CrewTracks has attended the MCAA Midyear Meeting for the last 5 years, and I would have to say this was the best one yet. The weather at Lake Geneva was incredible. Perfect for morning jogs, outdoor gatherings, and golf.
We began with the opening reception and dinner, which surprisingly (to me) ended with a great fireworks display! The fireworks provided an additional opportunity for networking, and I really enjoyed chatting with friends I’ve known for years as well as a few I had just met at dinner.
The MAC PEC golf outing was the next day, and it was perfect. We kept commenting all day about how utterly perfect the weather was. I don’t think I broke a sweat or felt too cool the whole time. Just an absolutely gorgeous day of golf. And, not to brag, I got to write my name down for the longest drive. Someone came along and beat me, but for at least part of the day, I was the champ. Let me assure you this was 99% luck and my only decent drive of the day.
Those first two days were great, but day 3 included our two main reasons for attending: speed dating and the dinner cruise, sponsored by CrewTracks.
This was our first time not presenting at speed dating at the MCAA Midyear Meeting, and I was absolutely blown away by the things I learned as an attendee. Not only did I gain greater insight into the masonry industry, but I also recognized a bunch of potential partnership opportunities with these vendors who serve the same customer base that we do.
The most obvious opportunity was with Hydro-Mobile. In their speed dating presentation, they showed job hazard analysis (JHA) and equipment inspection forms that they provide for their customers. I immediately thought of CrewTracks’ document management feature. We can definitely help streamline Hydro-Mobile customers’ experience filling out those forms. Stay tuned for another blog post with Hydro-Mobile forms prepped and ready for digital use in CrewTracks or any other software that allows you to fill out PDFs.
Later that evening, we departed on a dinner cruise on Lake Geneva. The houses surrounding the lake are absolutely gorgeous. As I was chatting with Judy Kelly from QuickHeaders, she had a view of the houses over my shoulder and kept insisting I turn around to see them, and I’m glad she did! I also got to chat with our co-sponsors of the dinner, 3 Promise Labor Services, as well as several mason contractors.
Unfortunately, I had to head back home the next day, but judging by past years, I’m sure the contractor roundtable was a lively and informative discussion, and the hall of fame induction dinner was an inspirational and heartfelt reflection on some incredible contributors to the masonry industry.
We’ll be back next year!
By the way, if you haven’t taken a look at CrewTracks lately (especially since we didn’t make a presentation during the speed dating this year) please feel free to schedule a free demo. We’d love to catch up on what you’ve been up to and show you the latest additions we’ve made to our product.
