CrewTracks is Powerful Piece-Rate Tracking Software

Piece work tracking, piece-rate tracking, individual production tracking… whatever you want to call it, we consistently discover people are surprised at how powerfully CrewTracks fulfills this need.

Well, shame on us for not shouting it from the rooftops.

We understand many companies pay each individual based on his or her daily production, and keeping track of all those numbers can be a cumbersome task. That was a huge motivator behind the new production tracking features we released earlier this year.

The link in the previous paragraph will take you to an in-depth tour of these features, but the looping video below is a quick overview. For a more detailed look at piece-rate tracking specifically, keep reading below the video.

The two keys to CrewTracks’ piece rate tracking capabilities are the job item setup and the individual production tracking.

In the job item setup, you can indicate a production unit as well as the total units (production budget) for that item. In the example below, we’re setting up a production unit of “brick.” And for this item, our production budget is 8500. In other words, we’re going to lay 8500 brick on this job.

FYI, you can also prevent employees from exceeding the production budget. In other words, once 8500 brick has been laid, no one will be able to submit additional production for this item unless you increase the production budget.

Next, we indicate that we want to track production by individual employee rather than tracking by crew:

With these settings in place, collecting individual production numbers from the field and paying your employees accordingly is a piece of cake. Also, CrewTracks will keep your employees informed regarding the percentage of each item that has been completed. Here’s what it looks like on an iPad:

If you’d like, you can also use our time clock and/or time allocation features to figure out each employee’s hourly production rate and let employees know if they’re on pace to finish the job in the expected amount of time.

Bottom line: CrewTracks is powerful piece-rate tracking software. We’d love to take a look at your use case and see if we’re a fit. Schedule a free demo to get all your questions answered.
